Is there a beach in northern Florida or Alabama, where you can camp in tents?

I've been checking around the primitive camping the North Florida Panhandle and Gulf Shores, Alabama, where stores can be set on the beach rather than nearby areas. It seems that most of the camping areas are established as RV parks and tent always seems to be delegated to remote locations far from the beach. We are seeking the experience of sleeping near the water for able to sleep hearing the waves.

Gulf Coast State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama has primitive camping, but again it is through the beach, but within walking distance. I think there are regulations on camping in the coastal properties that no longer allow "Beach Camping"
