I feel bad for the people coming in Florida to camp out?

Now maybe not all of you know that in florida there are lots of cockroaches. Expecially the German kind which are small and fly. They are disgusting. Florida also has the Palmetto bugs, the kind of roach 2 inches long. Those are rare though. I see all these people coming here to the campgrounds, with tons of kids and they have tents and they basically sleep on the floor. I cant imagine sleeping in a tent with roaches. Bugspary? Please those dont work at all as a prevention, they do work if sprayed on contact. Since I have the chance to talk to a lot of campers, should I tell them about the roaches…or just let them find out?
Plus, its freaking HOT here…I dont get out of my house other than in the morning and at night believe me, you cant stay outside in the heat and humidity. Why do people come to FL to camp? I just feel bad for them.

I’m not sure what the purpose of your question was, other than to elaborate on the fact that it’s hot and we have bugs. I wish I could say Palmetto Bugs were rare in my part of FL (central east coast) but they unfortunately are plentiful outside at night. Fortunately, it is very rare that one ever makes it into the house…and then I am armed with lots of bug spray.

Yes, it’s very hot and humid and hard to stay out in the afternoon. When I was growing up in the north though, it was too cold to stay outside for long in the winter time. I had to trudge through snow to my bus stop, often when it was still dark outside. So there are trade-offs for living anywhere.
