tent camping charlotte nc

Know a good place to camp near Charlotte North Carolina?
What is the best place to go tent in North Carolina? We live in Charlotte, and do not want to go too far …. about two hours away or less. We will be in a store and want to go somewhere where there are things to do and places interesting to see. (Fisheries, waterfalls, views, hiking, good food, showers) We last weekend of August, if that helps …. if there is an event special and festivals going to be anywhere near a camping good and worthy to attend. Basically, we are looking for a fun, intimate, romantic and relaxing weekend in one, beautiful area of security. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
I grew up in western North Carolina and recently returned camping holiday there. In about two hours can be in the Blue Ridge Parkway (www.nps.gov / BLRI) and campsites along the route multiple. Linville Falls, and Julian Price Park are two campgrounds in the area. You are also near Grandfather Mountain Rock / blowing. There are multiple paths of the Parkway, as well as grandfather district Pisgah Nat. Forest. Highway 181, Morganton recommend to access the motorway. This provides access to the Pisgah NF, Linville Gorge, and the Wilson Creek drainage (waterfalls) that are loaded with hikes. Enjoy!
