Blinded Help WW2 Japanese labor camp survivors

Each person in the world today owes a debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who served in World War II. Many sacrificed their lives, others were maimed and wounded in battle, or on the domestic front. St Dunstans is a charitable organization founded in 1915 to help the blind and visually impaired ex-soldiers to rebuild their lives. Below is the experience of life Stan Grimsey. One of the many ex-military and women, who have benefited from the generosity of the kind of people who support St. Dunstans Stan joined the infantry in 1939. For two years, his first duty was the driver of the Brigade, 54th Infantry Brigade.

Stan eventually left his post in Hereford in April 1941 for the Andes, stopping to train – and fight – in Rio, Cape Town, Bombay and Singapore.

"I lost a lot of my friends to defend Singapore. There was a horrible scene, unbelievable carnage."

Stan was captured in Singapore, and made to work – in the quarry, the construction of a railway – during his stay in tents in the jungle. He was imprisoned for over a year.

"Conditions in the camps were horrible. We did 18 hours or more a day sometimes. All I wanted to eat Rice was horrible, and worms. There were many in the rice, which could not be selected out. "

Although sometimes it is difficult to decide to speak of the traumatic experience of the dam is maintained, Stan felt it was important that people know what happened and the story is remembered as it was.

"These men knew exactly what they were doing to the boys, it was a bad scene. "

When Japan surrendered, Stan was building an airstrip:

"A sky diver entered the camp and said" you're free. "He told us that an attacker could do a trial run on the field and not have fear. When supplies fell just could not believe it! There was no canned food, paper and pencils, and toilet paper. We were so happy when we left the camp. "

Eventually he returned to England in November 1945. He received a letter while he was in the Suez Canal, saying how it was life at home.

Stan's view had begun to deteriorate during the work on the railways:

"I was a prisoner of war for three years and eight months. They were denied proper food and medicine and ¬ are given only rice, so I suffered from a lack of vitamin B and lost my sight. "

When I first became a St Dunstan in 1977 and has been a permanent resident since 1979.

"I enjoy life. I call my St Dunstan's heaven. I have many friends here and everyone has been very kind to me. I have everything I need. I'm very happy here. "

Stan still remains very active. He did the Hastings Half Marathon 86 years and still enjoys ballroom dancing. He says:

"I am very grateful to St Dunstan's – who have done much for me. I have my own room here in Ovingdean and the staff is very friendly – it really feels like home. "

After reading about Stan Grimsey `s life. Don `t you feel proud that our country were men as brave and bold in it` s more dark day `s. I know I felt a little embarrassed my own little crisis of credit concerns and problems in life. Because they don `t seem so bad after all, compared with the struggles of Stan. If you want to help people like Stan. A link to the St Dunstan `s-donation website below. Please be generous. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

The 2007-2012 Outlook For Canvas Camping Tents In India

$609

This study covers the latent demand outlook for canvas camping tents across the states, union territories and cities of India. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,600 cities in India. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of its state or union territory and of India as a whole is reported. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each state or union territory and city, latent demand estimates are created for canvas camping tents. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.
