tent camping washington coast

Camping in / around Portland (store)?
My family and I are heading to Oregon and the Oregon coast in May and would like to spend a couple of Portland days before we head to the coast. We are camping with a tent. Where is a good campsite, which is easy to get to the zoo and Japanese gardens, without much hassle? Do I have to go south to Milo McIver State Park or State Park or Champoge private camping? or should we stay in the south of Washington? Any help would be appreciated. Furthermore, any suggestion on what to see and do in Portland with 3 years of age?
Below is a website which lists tons of campsites in the state of Oregon. You may be able to find one that works for you. Http: / / www.oregon.com / recreation / camping / camping_map.cfm

But how to find the best from the more than 1,000 choices in the state? The campgrounds in the fourth edition of this popular guide were chosen based on three criteria: they had to be accessible by car but not overrun by RVs; boast great scenery; and be as close to a wilderness experience as possible. Each profile provides essential details on facilities, reservations, fees, and restrictions, as well as an accurate, easy-to-read map.
